The United States ranks No. 1 in the world in terms of study abroad application numbers, according to an annual ranking published Thursday by the Association of Universities and Colleges for International Education.
The rankings are based on a survey conducted by the University of California, which provides data on applications to more than 1,000 institutions worldwide.
The top 10 were all in the U.S., according to the report, which found that nearly half of international students applied to study in the country last year.
The study found that a quarter of the international students who applied to U.C. campuses in 2017 were U.K. nationals.
The U.k. has the highest number of international applicants overall, with nearly 1.5 million applications in 2017, according the report.
The other U.s. nations were Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United States.
